This beginner-to-intermediate workshop is part one of a two-part workshop series on the pandas library, a popular Python library for data cleaning, data wrangling, and data analysis. Participants in this interactive class will use Jupyter Notebooks software and Python code to import, understand, and prepare a dataset for further analysis or visualization.

Julianne Perretta, executive director of the L.A.D. Academy, will facilitate a discussion of the article "The illusion of learning: Turning studying into thinking" for the Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation's next Education Journal Club.

Visualizing data is critical for both understanding the meaning and patterns hidden in your data as well as communicating it to an audience. This workshop by Johns Hopkins Data Services serves as an introduction to using R's data visualization tools and techniques. Some prior experience in R is required.
