Physical Well-Being
University Health Services (UHS). This office provides medical and wellness services to learners at the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus* and their spouses, domestic partners, and dependents.
Denton A. Cooley Center. This gym, located on the East Baltimore campus, features personal training, group classes, a women’s weight room, an outdoor pool, and intramural team sports. There is also a satellite center on the ninth floor of the Bloomberg School of Public Health building. Visit the membership portal for pricing information.
O’Connor Recreation and Well-Being Center. This gym, located on the Homewood campus, features personal training, group classes, an indoor pool, and intramural team sports. Membership and pricing vary depending on your affiliation with the university.
Mental Well-Being
UHS Mental Health Services. This office provides outpatient mental health services, including psychiatric assessment and individual therapy to learners at the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus and their spouses, domestic partners, and dependents. There is no out-of-pocket cost for these services for eligible individuals.
Johns Hopkins Student Assistance Program (JHSAP). JHSAP serves all graduate students, and its services include short-term counseling, crisis response, relationship support, coaching, educational workshops, and consultations with faculty and staff.
TimelyMD. This free mental telehealth service includes options for scheduled counseling with mental health professionals. It is available to all students and trainees.
Calm. All Hopkins affiliates have free premium access to this meditation and sleep app. Please use the URL https://www.calm.com/jhu for free premium access; do not try to directly download it from the App Store or Google Play.
SilverCloud. This online interactive learning module teaches cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. It is available for free to all full-time students over the age of 18.
Health Promotion Offices
UHS Wellness. This office serves students, post-doctoral fellows, house staff and other trainees on the East Baltimore campus. Subscribe to the UHS Wellness listserv for updates and events. To contact the office with any comments, ideas, questions, or recommendations, email uhswellness@jhu.edu.
Center for Health Education and Well-Being (CHEW). This office, based on the Homewood campus but serving the entire university, cultivates and supports holistic well-being for individuals, relationships, groups, and the Hopkins community at-large. The staff is available to consult on services and programs like alcohol and other drugs and gender violence prevention.
