Executive Director of Student Well-Being
Jacki Stone (she/her/hers) joined the JHU Student Health and Well-Being Division in August of 2019. She provides leadership for well-being staff, programs and services for all JHU students and trainees. Jacki sees well-being as a fluid state of being that is impacted by our daily choices. Small choices and changes can make a big difference-that includes making a choice for quality sleep, choosing an extra glass of water, or taking a few moments to breathe with the calm app. We can all think about well-being through a social systems lens to understand how our individual actions shape our state of being, but also the complex environments we operate in such as peer groups, organizations, institutions, policies and culture.
Jacki has 17 years of experience in higher education and student affairs. Prior to joining Well-Being promotions and education, Jacki served at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the University of Arizona and the University of Washington. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in Language, Literacy and Culture. Jacki is an alumna of the JHU School of Education MS in Clinical Community Counseling program and she also has an MS in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University and a BS in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. Jacki lives with her partner and dogs, Dewey and Feliks, in Baltimore City and loves exploring what this great city has to offer.
